Tahiti Dreams: Overwater Bungalows and Lagoon Adventures

Hiking Escapades

Hiking should be on your bucket list when you go to Tahiti. This island is endowed with beautiful mountains like Mount Aorai, Mount Orohena, and Mount Pito Iti. You can hike any of these mountains.

Although all these mountains are accessible via paved roads, Mount Aorai provides the best hiking experience for expert hikers because of its high elevation. However, there are ropes and hiking hooks to make your hiking experience safer and easier.

The hiking experience in Tahiti is made better because there are hotels and restaurants along the hiking trail to allow tourists to refresh and replenish their bodies. Therefore, you do not have to worry about food or water when hiking.

Participating in the National Sport of Va’a

Va’a sports competition is popular in Tahiti. This sports event is a race of canoes, where participants compete who will ride the canoe to the finish line first. Participating teams cross the ocean from the Huahine to Bora Bora through Taha’a and Raiatea.

You will be surprised to see the outriggers paddle those canoes for three days to get to Bora Bora. It is an exciting experience to cover 125 kilometers on a canoe to get to the finish line. It looks tiring, but the locals value this sports event.

Va’a is a sacred sport among Tahitians because it is a part of their culture. Therefore, they always like showcasing the sport to visitors. You can go and watch as they compete or participate if you know how to ride a canoe.
